Cauldron cooking in the wild — Free Approach

Frost River backpack and axe. Approche Libre offers outdoor equipment for cooking differently.

Approche Libre®

A brand born around the fire...

It all started by a campfire, with a cauldron blackened by flames, and the desire to simply gather with friends.

For over 10 years, we have been passionate about bushcraft, bivouacking, and outdoor cooking.
From this passion, Approche Libre was born: a French brand, from the Alpes-Maritimes, independent, that designs durable and useful objects for living freely and cooking outdoors in a cauldron.

Our historical recipe boxes

We have designed 3 boxes of 10 recipes, engraved on wood, to be used directly around the fire:

  • Laser-engraved, without ink or plastic, on basswood plywood.

  • Strong and durable, even in humid conditions.

  • Easy to read and carry, even when bivouacking. Size 80 × 115 mm. Thickness 3 mm.

Our themes:

  • Gaulish cauldron cooking box

  • Medieval cauldron cooking box

  • 1930s French cauldron cooking box

Each recipe has been designed to be made autonomously, or around a fire with family.
