FAQ
What is the FSC® label?
The FSC® label guarantees that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests.
It ensures that the operation respects the environment , protects biodiversity, maintains forest resources in the long term and safeguards the rights of workers as well as local communities.
Choosing FSC® certified wood means supporting sustainable forest management and reliable traceability of the material, from the forest plot to the finished product.
Can they be used to maintain a cauldron?
Yes.
The brown brush makes it easy to scrub and remove food residue stuck to the side of the pot.
The light sisal brush allows you to then apply a grease or vegetable oil evenly, without excess, to protect the cauldron before storing it away.
What are the differences between the two brushes?
The kit contains:
- A firm, brown brush made of sisal and palm fibers, perfect for cleaning the cauldron without scratching the cast iron or damaging the seasoning.
- A softer brush , made of sisal fibers, ideal for spreading vegetable grease evenly, cleaning vegetables and roots and outdoor equipment.
What is the nature of the fibers?
Sisal is a natural fiber derived from the leaves of the agave plant, which is cultivated for its long, strong fibers.
Originally from Yucatán in Mexico, it was already used by the Mayans , who made ropes, clothing and various tools from it long before the arrival of Europeans.
The palm tree (Indian palm) provides a natural rigidity ideal for scouring, without risking damage to the cast iron.
