FAQ
Where does merino wool come from?
Appearing in Spain as a result of crossbreeding, the merino sheep has been renowned since the Middle Ages for its exceptionally fine and soft wool.
A few animals were introduced to Australia (1788) and then to South Africa (1795), but it was mainly during the 19th century that livestock farming developed on a large scale. These vast territories then became the new homes of merino, renowned for producing wool of unrivaled quality.
Why choose merino wool over a synthetic hat?
Merino fiber is finer than traditional wool, and its natural structure traps air → excellent thermal insulation. It absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet, and then gradually wicks away perspiration. Unlike synthetic fibers, the keratin in wool limits the growth of bacteria → no odors even after several uses.
Is this hat itchy?
No. Merino fiber is ultra-fine, soft, and comfortable against the skin. You can wear it all day without discomfort.
One size fits all, does it fit everyone?
Yes. The knit of the mesh provides elasticity that allows it to fit most adult sizes (approximately 52 to 62 cm). The hat stays in place in all weather without being tight.
